USDA Home Loans

USDA home loans help a lot of people buy homes.  Don’t be confused with USDA’s reference to “rural development”.  That does not mean you can only buy land hundreds of miles to no-where.  Although that does sound peaceful, doesn’t it.  USDA home loans can be used in many areas including by big cities and metro areas.

One of the most attractive benefits of these loans is that the USDA has no down payment requirement.  Wow!  That’s right!  Some lenders may want borrowers to provide a down payment, though, if their financial status isn’t what the lenders like to see. 

Also, home buyers with lower credit scores can be eligible for USDA home loans.  Double wow!  These loans can also have competitive interest rates and lower fees.  This keeps getting better.  There are borrower income limits for eligibility, but don’t let that scare you off.  The income limits vary by location and they can be quite generous which is good for borrowers.

USDA home loans are available in many areas across the country.  “Many” means “not all” areas, but it’s still a lot.  Your real estate agent can advise you on locations where USDA home loans can be used to buy your home.  And consult with your lender to learn whether or not you can be eligible for a USDA home loan.
